Please pardon our dust as we update this legacy blog. I stopped updating the blog after joining a similar but larger outfit, Septcarres, where we designed and built local restaurants like Bad Saint, Elle, and the restaurants at Motto in Chinatown. Then, the focus was on design, detail, and craftsmanship of pieces. That focus is still core to everything I do, but the business model is now home improvement, repair, additions, and renovations. Until there is time to update with residential home improvement pictures, this shall stand as proof of competence.

Mazzaferro Design Build Services, Inc., has been crafting built-ins and other custom millwork in DC for the past six years. The business is based on a mission to create beautiful objects and environments that enhance the lives of those who use them.
This mission is achieved by:
- Listening to clients and engaging with them frequently throughout the design process.
- Offering clients the option to engage as much or as little in the process as they feel comfortable with.
- Being wary of passing trends and limiting their influence.
- Thinking in terms of artistic priciples such as proportion, scale, and composition.
- Building to exact dimensions and following good construction practices.
- Planning for surprises – never leaving an installation up to chance.
