Insulated Wine Cellar Doors
I built these for a local contractor who specializes in wine cellars. These double doors have been designed for a very small refrigerated unit. The cores are filled with foil-backed ridgid insulation, which has been adhered to skins with contact adhesive. Skin is 1/4″ medex, frames are white oak. Having a structural insulation fill gave these doors a very solid feel when closing. Not shown in the picture is exterior grade kerfed door seals. The white stain around the edge is diluted wood glue, a technique for sealing edges in preparation for painting.
